Claiming to be Jews (the people of God), the Synagogue of Satan persecutes those who follow Jesus the Messiah (the actual people of God). Jesus refers to them as "liars" since, in actuality, they have surrendered their identity as "true" Jews by rejecting the Jewish Messiah.

The Synagogue of Satan plays a central role in Bible prophecy; it is used by Satan to persecute the Christian Church, murdering many and focusing on control of the religious, political, and economic systems of the whole world.
