Electricity demand for AI data centers is soaring. The result won’t be pretty.
The tech industry’s all-out artificial intelligence push is fueling soaring demand for electricity to run data centers that dot the landscape in Virginia, Ohio and other states. Large, rectangular buildings packed with servers consumed more than 4 percent of the nation’s electricity in 2023, and government analysts estimate that will increase to as much as 12 percent in just three years. That’s partly because computers training and running A.I. systems consume far more energy than machines that stream Netflix or TikTok. [Read More]
Thailand has become a test case for the use of biometric data in every facet of life. Facial recognition data is required for any single transfer above 50,000 baht (around $1,580), daily transfers above 200,000 baht, and any international transfers from personal accounts. All major Thai banks, such as Bangkok Bank, Kasikorn (KBank), SCB, Krungthai, and Krungsri, require customers to submit biometric data, and the Bank of Thailand (BOT) provides the general guidelines that these banks must follow. Vietnam has erased and/or frozen 86 million unverified bank accounts as the nation surrenders to the globalist Great Reset. Anyone wishing to function in society must surrender their biometric data to maintain a bank account. The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) claims that the measure was a system cleanup aimed at preventing fraud. In actuality, the measure is one step closer toward a national ID system that enables the government to control its citizens’ every move. [Read More]
Stanford University has issued a chilling warning about the impact of artificial intelligence on jobs. The number of job opportunities for young professionals in AI-affected sectors across the United States has dropped by 13% over the past three years.
According to a report from the Stanford Digital Economy Lab, AI is going to reduce the number of jobs available to human beings, and has already done so. Researchers cautioned that smart technologies are swiftly reshaping career prospects for entry-level workers, and the future is looking increasingly bleak.
It was amazing to see St. Funogas’ article today (8/22/25) entitled “My Concerns With Artificial Intelligence.” Hopefully my thoughts below will add to his insights! Great minds think alike!
I deny being a Luddite, but I must confess I’m concerned about the rapidly growing utilization of A.I. in our lives. It’s kind of shocking how many devices are connecting to some A.I. flavor or the other, and I suppose – eventually – just one or two super-A.I.s, directly or indirectly. Smartphones (for all their utility, essentially a government eavesdropping device), home security systems, Alexa, cars, and even computers/laptops are coming pre-wired (as it were) with A.I. “for our convenience”! The rise of artificial intelligence (AI) has been alarmingly rapid since 2022. Before then, AI was considered little more than a plaything or a novelty. But now it is transforming businesses, wiping out entire categories of office jobs, and threatening human liberty. The first practical release of the Claude AI code-writing tool just by itself has completely transformed the global software industry. I’m talking about a Buggy Whips level of industry transformation. As a personal illustration, I should mention that my youngest son is now in his third year at a university here in The American Redoubt, studying for a degree in computer science. His prospects for finding a job when he graduates in 2027 have dropped dramatically since his freshman year. I’m now advising him to pursue a career in software design rather than programming. Otherwise, he’ll be another buggy whip maker. [Read More]
Decisions about digital IDs, also called e-IDs, will be made across the board by all countries (193 UN member-states) within short, or have already been made. In some cases, like Switzerland, people will have a choice, they will be able to vote on the decision, see below.
In other countries, the governments, or those who pull the strings behind their governments, will take the decision without consulting the people.
A digital ID would be your last step to full enslavement – even if it is sold to you as a “benefit,” an “all-in-one” ID, that allows you passage to everything. What it does not say is that this “passage” comes at a high cost of liberty. It is granted only if you comply fully with the conditions of the e-ID and the linked QR code. [Read More]
